New collection features artistic bending of platinum wires

Harry Kotlar’s exemplary craftsmanship is most commonly associated with the sought after Artisan Pavé. And it’s easy to see why: Artisan Pavé is one of its signature and hallmark designs featuring the old-world method of hand carving platinum or 18k gold with pave melee which comes in various motifs.
But this expertise goes beyond the Artisan Pavé. Another signature design of Harry Kotlar is the double-prong hand pulled metal heads. It is the old-world technique of hand pulling and hand shaping metal and fashioning it into prongs. To expand this awe-inspiring artistic method, Harry Kotlar is introducing the Plasmare collection.
A Revival of the Craft
Hand forged, hand pulled and shaped by hand. The Plasmare (/plasˈmaɾe/- which means “to fashion” or “to give life to” in Italian) Collection revives the lost art of shaping platinum wires. But instead of simply hand pulling platinum and shaping it to double prong heads, Harry Kotlar’s master artisans forms a surprise motif on the gallery.
Due to its intricacy and sophistication, this method can only be done in Platinum. The platinum wires form the head of the ring, and serve the important function of cradling the precious center stone. Platinum’s superior integrity, enables our artisans to precisely bend and shape a delicate silhouette without compromising the durability of the prongs.
Platinum is also thirty times rarer than gold — a fact that makes it even more desirable. A Plasmare piece will last multiple lifetimes, making it the ideal object to bequeath to future generations.

Four-Prong Heads available in round and fancy-shaped center stones
Six-Prong Heads available in round center stones
Each motif comes in platinum heads with either platinum, 18k white, yellow, or rose gold shanks.
